Phoenix Research Labs’ technologies are optimized for animal eye research and are not adaptations of devices designed for clinical use. This optimization and focus on eye research requirements uniquely empowers basic research using laboratory animals and fuels scientific discovery—which is at the heart of the Phoenix mission.

Research for the Micron technology began with a careful study of the optical plan of the eyes of laboratory animals. Our imaging system was then optimized for laboratory animals, both in computer simulations and laboratory studies to deliver performance at the very physical limits of optical systems. This level of performance is not available in systems designed for human use with ad hoc adaptations for mice.
